Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ)
Upon completion of an ASCFS-accredited craniofacial program, a fellow will be granted to opportunity to earn a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Craniofacial, Cleft, & Pediatric Plastic Surgery*.
To qualify for a CAQ, the fellow must:
① Complete an ASCFS-accredited Craniofacial, Cleft, & Pediatric Plastic Surgery fellowship program
② Earn a passing score (80%) on a knowledge-based exam at the end of the fellowship
③ Complete and submit a comprehensive case log meeting all required minimums
④ Complete the fellow survey
⑤ Become certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). International fellows who are not eligible to obtain the ABPS certification will be given a "Completion of Training" diploma (awarded by the ASCFS) at the end of their fellowship.
Sequence:
- At the end of fellowship: CAQ exam passed, case logs completed (and thresholds met), fellowship survey completed
- ABPS certification achieved
- CAQ awarded
